Currently No Change To The Rights And Status of EU Nationals In The UK, But Some Points To Note

 Although the UK Government have correctly advised in a press announcement on their UK Visas and Immigration website that EU nationals do not currently need to apply for Registration Certificates or Permanent Resident Cards, Immigration Lawyers are advising that EU nationals consider doing so.  The reason for this is the uncertain future of rights, the need to try and protect rights that may be subject to change, and the possibility of a future need to demonstrate to employers documents in addition to EU passports to prove the right to work. 

EU nationals who naturalise as British citizens should be aware that doing so may negatively affect immigration related benefits in respect of their family members and family reunion.
